A Place Where Children Thrive
For more than 35 years, Brightling Children’s Academy has been a trusted part of the south Winnipeg community. Our educators follow a play-based approach rooted in the Reggio Emilia philosophy. This creates learning experiences that respond to each child’s curiosity, creativity, and individual pace, in a place where every child feels valued and inspired to learn.
In 2026, Brightling became a community-based not-for-profit organisation governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, deepening our roots and our commitment to the families and children we serve.
Our Programs
We offer licensed care for up to 169 children across three age-based programs.
Each program is designed to support healthy development while giving families dependable, high-quality care in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Our youngest learners are welcomed into a warm, secure environment where nurturing caregivers provide attentive one-on-one care. Through music, creative play, and gentle exploration, infants develop foundational skills and build the trust and confidence they need to grow.

Our play-based, emerging curriculum is designed to meet each child where they are. Educators create meaningful learning experiences that spark curiosity, encourage problem-solving, and nurture social development, all while building a lifelong love of learning.

A dynamic before- and after-school program that keeps older children engaged, active, and connected. Children explore science, art, cooking, music, drama, sports, and more. Full-day care is available during school closures, in-service days, spring break, and summer.

Brightling maintains an ongoing waiting list for all programs. We encourage families to register early, as spaces fill based on availability, licensing requirements, and the age of your child when a spot opens.

Enrolment opportunities are offered based on space availability, program needs, and your child's age at the time a spot becomes available.
